In 1944, Army went undefeated and won each game with an average score of 56-4. In 1945, Army gained an average of eight yards after every snap. The average score of their nine wins in 1945 slipped a bit to 46-5, but remembering what Notre Dame teams have done to them in the past, they treated Notre Dame very harshly. Facing the second-ranked Fighting Irish at Yankee Stadium, Army crushed them, 48-0.
